Konnichiwa! O genki desuka?
こんにちわ! おげんき です か?
Since we love food very very much, we want to feature one of our favorite cuisine in the world! Japanese cuisine! Oh almost forgot! The first two sentences means ‘Hello! How are you?’ in Japanese. If you are doing great, you can answer our question with Totemo Genkidesu. And yes! We hope you are doing really great because we have something fun to tell and of course it’s food!
Speaking of Japanese cuisine, we got you covered! Don’t you worry, you don’t have to go to Japan to try their famous cuisine like sushi, sashimi, ramen, udon, soba, yakitori, curry, gyoza, etc. We would like to present you our favorite spot where you can find a bunch of Japanese food near you in just one area. Say Hello to Little Tokyo Mall Kota Kasablanka Jakarta! But please don’t get us wrong, we still believe that visiting Japan and trying their food in person will be one of a kind experience. But still, Little Tokyo has a lot to offer! So, let’s explore!
About three months ago, Mall Kota Kasablanka Jakarta opened this food area called Little Tokyo. It is located on the Upper Ground (UG) floor. They have a big signboard with “LITTLE TOKYO” written on it exactly above the entrance. They have several restaurants ready to serve you. They have Abura Soba Yamatoten, Donburi Ichiya, Menya Sakura, Nama Sushi, Ootoya, Zhuma (opening soon), and Casa de Peri.
Once we walked through the Little Tokyo area, we slowly looked around and found the perfect restaurant to satisfy our craving for ramen. It’s Menya Sakura!
The place itself is so Japan-themed. They have some Japanese ornaments like flags, posters, lanterns, and wooden wall art. One thing to be sure about, it’s cozy!
To be honest, Japanese cuisine has various tastes and so many option to choose from. By reading Menya Sakura’s menu, we still have no idea what to order because everything looks so good! It’s like someone screaming inside you and said “I want to try them all!”. It was hard to choose! But hey, we ended up with a recommendation list of what to order in Menya Sakura just for you!
- Tonkotsu Ramen (Rp60.000,-)
Ramen soup with Tonkotsu Flavor! It has a cloudy white colored broth. The yummy tonkotsu flavor is originally made from pork bones cooked over high heat for more than 10 hours! The noodles are super thin and straight. It is served with two slices of pork belly and boiled egg!
- Spicy Tsuke-men (Rp75.000,-)
It’s a dipping ramen! This is one of the best seller ramen! It consists with cold soba noodles which are eaten after being dipped in a separate bowl of soup. The soup itself made from chicken and fish (thick and yummy!).
- Spicy Kucai Mazesoba (Rp60.000,-)
This one caught our attention the most! Apparently Mazesoba is very popular in Japan. It’s dried ramen with spicy minced chicken, kucai, and delicious seasoning (onion, pepper, shoyu, seaweed, chilli). The thick udon noodles were smooth and chewy. All the seasoning and noodles were the best combination ever! Perfect for you spicy lovers!
- Spicy Char-su-don (Rp35.000,-)
Rice menu! It’s Japanese rice bowl dish with diced pork and special seasoning from Menya Sakura served over rice. The taste was kind of sweet yet salty. The portion was small. Not recommended for sharing, just have it yourself! Hehe…
- Pork Gyoza (Rp35.000,-)
Pan-fried gyoza filled with ground pork and vegetables wrapped in a thin dough. To be honest, the taste was good but the filling was too little and thin.
There you have it! As you guys might tell from the list, we love all to be spicy. Besides, they also have a non-spicy option. So, what are you waiting for? Have yourself a bowl of delicious ramen from Menya Sakura!
Still have another craving beside ramen? Be sure to check out other tenants for more tasteful Japanese cuisine. We are very sure that they will help you overcome your craving!
